A special library release from the family cellar. Rediscovered during lockdown, this medium bodied mid-tier Cabernet Merlot blend has developed beautifully with age.
Bright red fruit, smooth tannins, and savoury notes of game meats and leather, drinking exceptionally now and too good not to share.
Tasting Notes:
A beautifully expressive nose. Fragrant and classic notes of cassis and violet, pencil shavings, sea salt, tobacco and leather abound. A full and velvety palate displaying flavours of blackcurrant, Earl Grey tea, plum, cola nut and dark chocolate. The finish is long and integrated and the wine has subtle vitality.

Excellent flowering followed by a good growing season and a generous crop of clean ripe fruit benefiting very much from the older age of our vines not being stressed by the previously dry summer as with some of the younger vineyards on Waiheke. A long, warm (but not hot) Indian summer allowed for ripe phenolics and flavour profile without overpowering alcohol levels.
