The flagship wine of the estate: Te Motu is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines.
Only a few bottles remain from the second vintage ever produced by Te Motu. A very interesting and complex wine with aromas and flavours of earth, game, mushroom and forest floor. Dried herbs, cassis and oak with a touch of vanilla on the palate.

Previous season’s stress minimised Spring vigour of fruiting canes which combined with cold wet conditions at flowering to significantly reduce fruit-set and early berry development. Favourable conditions from veraison evenly ripened the low crop of open bunch small berries to intense flavours at maximum sugar levels.
