The flagship wine of the estate: Te Motu is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines.
A supple and elegant wine with attractive sweet fruits and a seductively smooth texture. A developed wine with liquorice, prune, dried apricot and toffee along with tertiary flavours of game, savouriness and forest floor. A lovely mature wine showing complex flavours and a long lingering finish.

Cool conditions and low sunshine hours throughout December and January reduced berry size on an already light fruit-set. From February, cloudless skies, hot days and warm nights accelerated berry ripening to produce a low yielding early harvest of extreme fruit ripeness.
