The flagship wine of the estate: Te Motu is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines.
A fulsome and robust blend with a full bouquet of blackberry and plum with secondary notes of earth, herbs and game. On the palate smoke and toasty oak with dark red and black berried fruits, cassis and typical game and savouriness expected by a wine of this age. Soft in the body and palate but still with lively acidity. Drinking beautifully now.

The long dry summer of 2000 was one of our best growing seasons yet producing clean ripe fruit. Harvest commenced on March 28 with Cabernet Franc in incredible condition. Merlot was harvested during the first week of April at near perfect analysis. Harvesting of our Cabernet Sauvignon was completed on 15 April with an abundance of ripeness and balance. A great vintage.
