The flagship wine of the estate: Te Motu is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines.

Tasting Notes:
Wonderfully fragrant bouquet, dark and unctuous fruit dominant with richly integrated flavours of red and black currants, plum and hints of blackberry. The palate is medium bodied, with ripe and smooth tannins. The dark fruits from the nose move over onto the palate and are backed up by sweet spice and smoke leading onto a long, lingering finish.

Excellent flowering followed by a good growing season and a generous crop of clean ripe fruit benefiting very much from the older age of our vines not being stressed by the previously dry summer as with some of the younger vineyards on Waiheke. A long, warm (but not hot) Indian summer allowed for ripe phenolics and flavour profile without overpowering alcohol levels.
