The flagship wine of the estate: Te Motu is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested from low-yielding vines.

Tasting Notes:
Our most classic Bordeaux style to date. Elegant and rich with blackcurrant fruit, cassis and dried herbs on the nose. Dark fruit, mint, cedar and earthiness come through on the palate. A very smooth and rich wine with soft tannins and bright acidity will give this wine fantastic longevity.

Spring was cooler than average and quite windy and the low yields in the 2007 vintage reflect this less than ideal weather during the flowering period. For the majority of the growing season after fruit set, the weather was impressive with little downpours and warm temperatures. Heavy rain fell a couple of weeks before vintage and this slowed finally ripening up, but we were able to get a crop that was in superb condition. Not as ripe as the 2006 and 2008 and more classic Bordeaux in style. A perfumed and elegant wine with fantastic ageing potential.
