Our new release, from an outstanding Waiheke Island vintage.
_
The flagship wine of our Waiheke Island vineyard, Te Motu is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Merlot and Franc, hand harvested from low-yielding vines.
The wine enjoys extended élevage and maturing in premium French oak before beginning a minimum 3 year term resting in bottle. On release, the wine shows elegance, complexity and firm yet supple tannins – the hallmarks of its longevity – and will continue to reward cellaring.

Cabernet sauvignon dominant with merlot and cabernet franc. A wine that has been built to last with dense fruit threaded with ripe tannins balanced by a core of sweet berry fruit flavours. A Christmas cake-like medley of concentrated fruits and spices

A dream Waiheke vintage.
Spring weather conditions were mild allowing an even fruit set and a sizeable crop. From there the summer of ‘19 set in. Hot dry sunny days turned into hot dry sunny weeks and months, leading to a vintage where each parcel of fruit achieved optimal ripeness.
Following our family recipe this flagship blend of our best Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec fruit spent two years of extended élevage in French oak before bottling.
