VINTAGE NOTES

Vintage 2020
A dream vintage, picked in the shadow of global turmoil. Through lockdown, we harvested pristine, clean, perfectly ripe fruit with minimal need for sorting, often simply pick-and-drop.

With no rain pressure, we were able to pick entirely on our terms, allowing each variety to reach optimal ripeness. Despite some wind-affected yields in exposed blocks, the quality across the board was exceptional.

Vintage 2021
A warm, dry season set the tone for 2021, with early budbreak and drought stress producing small, concentrated berries. A timely January rain refreshed the vines, though further rainfall added pressure as harvest approached.

The fruit was exceptional, but demanded meticulous sorting to ensure only the best made it through.

A milestone year, with Matt Dixon stepping in as head winemaker. Through careful handling and a focused approach, the wines show intensity, precision, and structure.

Low yields. Small berries. Serious structure.
A vintage defined by perseverance, rewarded by purity.

CRITIC REVIEWS

Kokoro 2021

Broad and robust, with aromas of ripe black currants and blackberries with hints of chocolate, coffee beans, olives and roasted spices. Full-bodied, rich and concentrated on the palate, with a succulent core of fruit layered with ripe yet well-defined tannins. Broad and intense. Drink or hold.
94 Points James Suckling

The Strip 2020
“Medium-bodied wine from an excellent vintage with dried herbs, cherry, blackberry and chocolate/mocha threaded with vinous flavours. Accessible now but with good cellaring potential. A complex wine.” Drink 2024–2035
